After completing her studies for a Bachelor of Laws in Turkey, Izlem found employment as a trainee lawyer in a well-known law firm in Istanbul working for international companies in the science and energy fields. After passing her professional assessment, she become a fully qualified lawyer and a member of the Istanbul Bar Association and at the same time was promoted to an associate in the firm with responsibility for a number of clients.

Having recognized that the economy of Turkey was becoming globalized with Turkey serving as the hub for many companies working in Eastern Europe and the Middle East, while the Law in Turkey was being influenced by international developments and especially those taking place in the European Union.
